About Rhonda
Rooted in Regulation. Built for Resilience.
"Watch and learn, girls. This is how it’s done."
Those are the exact words I said to my daughters standing in our kitchen. My husband had just put in his notice, walking away from a stable, 25-year career with absolutely no Plan B.
In that moment of massive life transition, I didn’t know exactly what was coming next. But I knew deep in my bones that we were going to be okay.
Navigating that level of uncertainty required more than just positive thinking, it required a steady physiological foundation. For me, that meant relying heavily on what I was learning about the nervous system to maintain my own internal calm.
The Evolution of My Practice: From Curiosity to Calling
By the time we hit this pivot, I had been practicing massage therapy for almost two decades. Over those 19 years of hands-on work, I kept encountering a specific puzzle: clients would come in with chronic physical pain and compression, but structural bodywork alone wasn't always enough to completely resolve it. I knew there was a missing link between the physical body and how it holds stress.
Because I had used Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) personally for over twelve years and understood the connection between meridian lines and anatomy, I decided to sign up for a professional EFT certification program. To be completely honest, when I first enrolled, I didn't know if I would ever actually use it in my business. I was simply fascinated by how it worked and wanted to understand the deeper relationship between physical anatomy and neurological regulation.
But when our life underwent a massive shift, what started as a personal interest quickly became an invaluable practical tool.
As I transitioned into the practical phase of my certification, I was living the work in real-time. Managing my own nervous system is what allowed me to show up with genuine calm while our family navigated an incredible amount of change. Over a remarkably short window, we built two new businesses from scratch, purchased a commercial building, moved our household, and I successfully transitioned my home-based practice into our commercial location in Grande Prairie: Align & Thrive Wellness.
I don’t share this piece of my story to teach a textbook theory. I share it because these tools are the exact framework that allowed me to stand tall through an extraordinary amount of real-world transition. When your nervous system is regulated, you stop operating from a place of survival-driven panic and start making decisions from clear, grounded alignment.
The Align & Thrive Approach: Where Structure Meets Neurology
At Align & Thrive Wellness, my work is built on a fundamental truth: our physical posture and our neurological state are constantly in a two-way conversation.
You cannot fully align the body if the nervous system is screaming "danger," and you cannot fully calm the mind if the body is locked in chronic, structural tension.
By blending my 19 years of massage therapy experience with clinical somatic practices, I look at the whole picture. My approach bridges the solid science of nervous system regulation with a deeply intuitive, felt experience. After nearly twenty years of bodywork, my hands respond directly to how your tissue is holding stress in real-time.
Whether we are focusing on kinetic chain movements and structural bodywork to release physical compression, or utilizing neurological tapping points to quiet a hyper-reactive nervous system, your care is entirely responsive, grounded, and tailored to your body's unique blueprint.
